tricky goes bananas

i bought desmond one of those little mesh feeders.  he wasn't so sure what to do with it at first, but once it clicked, he went to town.  by the end of it all he was just smashing and rubbing bananas all over his highchair having a great old time.  i had a feeling it would get a bit messy, hence the bare chest. thank goodness a bath was next on the agenda.

the walking man

we bought desmond a walker about a week ago and he is really learning how to get around.  he hasn't quite learned how to back up or change directions, but he loves cruising around the house beating on everything in sight. and, as you can see in the video, he has also recently learned how to work his tongue.

new arrival

congratulations to my brother and his darling wife.  they just had a beautiful baby girl two days ago.  i am so sad that i haven't been able to see her in person, she is far away.  however,  i have been staring at her pictures nonstop and that will just have to do for now.  she is a perfect little bundle and i am totally in love with her already. anyway, i am extremely happy for them, they will be fantastic parents.

music

it's funny, sometimes life gets so intense you forget about the little things that make you happy. sometimes i forget how much i love music and what a great escape it is to just put on a pair of headphones and listen to one of your favorite songs really loud (not so good on the eardrums i'm sure, but it's a sacrifice i'm willing to make for a few minutes of pleasure).  i just listened to "a place called home" by pj harvey.  it was a fantastic experience.  next up "look up" by the stars, "harrowdown hill" by thom yorke, and  then a little nostalgia with "day dream" by the smashing pumpkins.
